COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF REMOTE SENSING AND GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) TECHNOLOGIES IN UZBEKISTAN AND WORLD COUNTRIES

Abstract. This article provides a comparative analysis of the application of Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies in land resource management in agriculture, using Uzbekistan and advanced foreign countries as case studies. It highlights that digital spatial monitoring, satellite data, and smart irrigation systems have become essential tools for increasing agricultural efficiency globally. Furthermore, ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan—particularly in the Kashkadarya region—focused on the digitalization of land resources, combating soil salinity, and addressing degradation are analyzed, followed by scientific and practical recommendations to overcome existing challenges.
