Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium is one of the most prevalent serotypes associated with foodborne infections worldwide . Interestingly S. Typhimurium strains within multi-locus sequence type (MLST) ST313 have been identified as the major cause of invasive diseases in many Sub-Saharan African countries. Previously S. Typhimurium ST313 was rarely reported from regions other than sub-Saharan Africa. Although S.
