Shigella sonnei is a diarrheal pathogen that is responsible for a large number of shigellosis cases, worldwide. It is of great clinical concern due to its resistance to many antibiotics in developing countries. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a Shigella sonnei strain, a Pakistani isolates obtained from the stool specimen of a patient, exhibiting multidrug resistance.
