Anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity (AIC), often irreversible, is an important clinical concern for many cancer patients. Using human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CM), our study aims to determine the molecular mechanisms by which rs28714259, the single nucleotide polymorphism associated with AIC previously identified by our group, impacts the development of AIC. Using a series of hiPSC-CM cell lines polymorphic at rs28714259, we examined the impact of rs28714259 polymorphism on the transcriptome when cardiomyocytes are exposed to doxorubicin treatment.
