Governance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs)

This indicator assesses how well state-owned enterprises are managed to limit political interference and market distortions. It is a weighted average of four sub-components: the rationale for public ownership, the degree of protection from political interference, the degree of insulation from market discipline, and the management of public service obligations.
