Candy production volume in Japan 2013-2022

In 2022, the production volume of candy (ame) in Japan amounted to 155 thousand metric tons. This represented an increase from about 142 thousand tons produced in the previous year.Japanese candy can be separated into two distinct categories: hard-boiled candy and syrupy-like candy (mizuame).
