The invention relates to a tool device (10)， comprising: a shaft (2); and a braking apparatus (12)， which has at least one braking element (3)， in particular in the form of a brake disk， and a braking portion (14). The tool device (10) is designed to transfer the braking apparatus (12) from a released state， via a feeding state， into a braking state in a braking process， to provide coupling between the at least one braking element (3) and the shaft (2) for conjoint rotation in the released state such that the at least one braking element (3) corotates with the shaft (2) in the released state， to provide relative rotational motion between the at least one braking element (3) and the shaft (2) and to convert the relative rotational motion into an axial motion (31) of the at least one braking element (3) toward the braking portion (14) in the feeding state， and to apply a braking force to the shaft (2) by means of contact of the at least one braking element (3) with the braking portion (14) in the braking state such that the shaft (2) is braked.
