The dataset includes a field survey and a soil P manipulation experiment in a subtropical forest, to investigate how root functional traits, mycorrhizal colonization and putative pathogen infection of arbuscular mycorrhizal and ectomycorrhizal tree seedlings respond to gradients of soil P.
