This article examines the problems of classifying the genres of magical rituals aimed at healing diseases within the corpus of Uzbek shamanic ritual folklore. The study draws upon the theoretical approaches developed in international folklore scholarship to classify healing-oriented shamanic ritual genres. It proposes a new classification based on the forms of communication established between the shaman and the spirit world during ritual performance.
