This dataset contains comprehensive experimental data obtained from mechanical performance tests on garlic plants (including garlic scape and pseudo-stems), aiming to provide fundamental data support for the efficient and low-damage mechanical harvesting of garlic scape. The test materials were collected from the garlic planting base in Sanyangchuan, Tianshui City, Gansu Province in May 2025, and were of the white garlic variety. A total of 64 intact and undamaged samples were used for the tests, and basic physical parameters (diameter, thickness, moisture content, and density) were measured using digital calipers, oven drying method, and water displacement method.The core experimental data include the results of axial tensile, radial compression, and radial shear tests on garlic sprouts, pseudostems, and complete garlic plants, obtained using a universal testing machine (rated load 10,000 N, accuracy 0.18%). Key mechanical parameters such as elastic modulus, ultimate strength, and peak strain are included, and stress-strain curves plotted point by point are also recorded. Each test was repeated 8 times to ensure the reliability of the data.The dataset contains raw experimental data (Excel format). All data have been standardized and organized according to clear file naming rules to ensure traceability and repeatability. These data are of significant value to researchers engaged in agricultural machinery design, crop biomechanics, and the optimization of mechanical harvesting technology for garlic stems.
