Whale Trail Signage and Viewing platform access, Copacabana

Council is working towards providing a permanent coastal walkway connecting the five communities of MacMasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca Beach, North Avoca and Terrigal. The need for a
permanent walkway arose out of a community and Council initiative to hold and annual event of cultural and spiritual activities along a 10.5km coastal walkway.
The event is held during the solstice and whale migration north and the walkway passes through many vantage points to see the whales. The event began in 2006 with 200 participants and now is run by 300 volunteers and 15,000 people participate. The 5 Lands Coastal Walkway follows a highly scenic coastal route with ocean views stretching to the horizon.
