Transcriptome sequencing and assembly of female cone in Platycladus orientalis during the developmental process

The normal progression of pollination is mainly in female reproductive organ, so the molecular mechanism of development in female reproductive organs is vital for understanding the principle of pollination. However, studies in molecular biology on the development of female cones related to pollination is rare and unclear in gymnosperms, especially in Cupressaceae. This study provided the first transcriptome profile of Platycladus orientalis female cones at different developmental stages.
