This datasets contain the 𝛅<sup>11</sup>B and B/Ca determinations of three modern <em>Porites</em> corals and four ancient <em>Porites</em> collected from the east coast of Hainan Island in the northern South China Sea. The measurements of skeletal boron isotopes were carried out with a MC-ICP-MS, and the B/Ca was determined by ICP-MS.
