VPRS 20694 Probates and Administrations Caveat Books

This series comprises volumes that record the issue of probate and administration caveats. Caveats are legal documents that seek to prevent the granting of an order of probate or letter of administration. Issues were only valid for six months unless renewed. Entries in these volumes record the name of the deceased, residence, date of death, caveat lodged, against, caveator, proctor for caveator, caveat renewal details (if applicable), papers filed, proctor for applicant and date of grant (if applicable).
