Youth Smoking Survey, 1994 [Canada]

This microdatafile contains survey data collected in 1994 for persons aged 10 to 19 years of age in Canadas ten provinces. The surveys main objectives were to measure the prevalence, patterns of use and attitudes towards tobacco products among Canada's youth, to assess the social and demographic factors associated with smoking behaviour, and to assess the awareness of health risks due to smoking among young people. Data for persons 10 to 14 years of age were collected through a sample of students in classrooms across Canada, while youth aged 15 to 19 were interviewed as a supplement to the Labour Force Survey.
