To obtain a global profile of gene expression, we performed RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) using cells cultured under different conditions to determine genes and signaling pathways associated with enhanced osteogenesis and cell survival in hBMSCs Overall design: Three replicates were analyzed for three different patient groups The hBMSCs were established from bone marrow samples from 7 patients (mean age: 70 years, range: 50-90 years). A statement of consent was informed to all donors. All experiments were performed according to the relevant guidelines and regulations
