The panel lies on Lenihuline Hill, Isle of Bute, in rough pasture on a possible turf dyke line running downhill from NE to SW. Among scrub birch to the NNW are the ruins of Mid Lenihuline croft. There are views across the West Kyle of Bute towards the Ardlamont Peninsula, with Inchmarnock to the S and Arran to the SSW.
