raw sequence reads of soil and freshwater sediment enrichment from bioreactors

Soil was collected from the bank of River Wei and sediment was also collected from the same river in Xi'an for the enrichment of DAMO (Denitrifying anaerobic methane oxidation) microorganisms. Tests were conducted with soluble and two solid copper phases, malachite and covellite, for the effect of copper on DAMO. The enrichment containing representative DAMO bacteria and archaea was later used to inoculate several electrochemical cells. The electrochemical cells were supplied with methane as the sole electron and organic carbon source. Anaerobic oxidation of methane occurred on carbon-fiber, graphite, and FTO electrodes in these bioelectrochemical cells. Two electrochemical cells equipped with FTO electrodes were run in parallel and the biofilms on the FTO electrodes were sampled and sequenced.
