Meta data of systematic comparison of gas production in batch culture incubations with rumen fluid or faeces as inoculum

The dataset was compiled for the paper titled 'Systematic comparison of gas production in batch culture incubations with rumen fluid or faeces as inoculum' (submitted).This data was collected from published papers using the keywords “rumen” AND “in vitro” AND “gas production” AND (“faeces” OR “feces”). A study was included in the evaluation dataset if it met the following criteria: (i) It was published in English; (ii) It collected both RI and FI from the same animal; (iii) It incubated the same feed substrate using both RI and FI; (iv) It provided detailed information on the feed substrate along with the corresponding gas production volumes.
