Based on the analysis of lung cancer RNA-seq data from the TCGA database, it was found that Steroid 5 alpha-reductase 3 (SRD5A3) is abnormally highly expressed in lung cancer tissues. The research results revealed that interfering with SRD5A3 can significantly inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion capabilities of tumor cells. The study also found that SRD5A3 promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of lung cancer cells by inhibiting ferroptosis. Research has shown that SRD5A3 is the initiating gene for N-glycosylation modification and is crucial for the N-linked glycosylation modification of mammalian proteins. Therefore, exploring and elucidating the mechanism of action of SRD5A3 on protein glycosylation modification in ferroptosis of lung cancer has important clinical significance for the treatment of lung cancer.
