The genome of Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capricolum strain 14232 was sequenced as part of the EVOLMYCO initiative funded by The French National Research Agency (ANR). This project aims to study the evolution of ruminant mycoplasmas with a special focus on horizontal gene transfer. Strain 14232 from M. capricolum subsp. capricolum was isolated in 2004 from the milk of a caprine with mastitis in Deux-Sèvres, France.
