Field data lakes Leimersheim, Sekdoorn and Toules

This dataset comprises harmonized in situ measurements of water quality, water temperature, and meteorological conditions collected at three floating photovoltaic (FPV) study sites in Europe: Lake Leimersheim (Germany), Lake Sekdoorn (Netherlands), and Lac de Toules (Switzerland). Measurements were conducted at FPV installations and nearby reference sites to enable comparative analyses under contrasting climatic and limnological conditions.

Water quality data were obtained using multiparameter EXO2 probes and include key physicochemical and biogeochemical variables. Water temperature was measured using fixed sensor chains, providing depth-resolved thermal profiles of the upper water column. Meteorological data at hourly resolution include radiation, air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, precipitation, and snowfall.

The dataset covers the years 2023 and 2024, with site-specific temporal and depth coverage. The dataset is suitable for FPV impact assessments, depth-resolved and time-series limnological analyses, and the calibration and validation of hydrodynamic, thermal, and water quality models.
