Pyramid, Winnemucca and Walker Lake levels, 1844 to 2026

Water-surface levels of Pyramid Lake, Winnemucca Lake and Walker Lake, Nevada, from 1844 to 2026, joined into one table of 9,684 readings: S. T. Harding's 1965 compilation of early survey readings and gauge records for Pyramid and Winnemucca Lakes, then the US Geological Survey gauges at Pyramid Lake near Nixon (10336500) and Walker Lake near Hawthorne (10288500). Every early reading carries its observer and Harding's page number. Until 1905 Pyramid Lake rose in wet years and fell in dry ones. Then Derby Dam began sending about half the Truckee River to farms in another valley, and the lake fell about eighty feet by 1967. Winnemucca Lake was dry by 1939. Walker Lake has fallen more than 160 feet since 1882. Includes the chart, the original USGS series and the scripts that join the table and draw the chart.
