Genomic Insights into Enterococcus species Isolated from various food sources in Accra, Ghana

Enterococcus spp., which have a remarkable ability to acquire and disseminateantimicrobial resistance (AMR) determinants, have emerged as major contributors to life-threatening infections globally, zoonotic and foodborne infections Yet, insights into theirgenomic epidemiology, particularly in Ghana, remains sparse. This study sought to provide baseline data on the prevalence, diversity, evolutionary relationships, population structure, and virulence gene profiles of Enterococcus spp. isolated from food sources in Accra, Ghana.
