Spatio-temporal variations on alluvial fan channel width in response to grain size on the channel bed under constant upstream boundary conditions.This dataset pertains to the alluvial fan tank experiment conducted at the University of Minnesota, Delta Basin-1. The experiment was designed to study the dynamics of alluvial fan formation under controlled conditions, specifically focusing on the following parameters:Experimental Conditions:Constant Upstream Boundary Condition: The experiment maintained consistent inflow rates throughout the duration of the study.No Base-Level Change: The experiment was conducted without altering the base level, allowing for the observation of sediment transport and deposition solely due to inflow dynamics.Sediment Mixture: The sediment used in the experiment consisted of:50% Crushed Walnut Sediment: diameter ranging form 0.149 to 0.40 mm, density of 1.3 g/cm³.50% Quartz Sand: diameter ranging form 0.075 to 0.090 mm, density of 2.65 g/cm³Flow Rates:Low Qw (LQw): 7 × 10⁻⁵ m³/sec (low water flow rate)High Qw (HQw): 10 × 10⁻⁵ m³/sec (high water flow rate)Low Qs (LQs): 2 × 10⁻⁶ m³/sec (low sediment flow rate)High Qs (HQs): 4 × 10⁻⁶ m³/sec (high sediment flow rate)
