Precipitation data obtained in 1974 aboard the U.S. B-scale ships during the GARP Atlantic Tropical Experiment (GATE) are presented. Tabulations include precipitation as measured by siphon rain gages mounted on the masts, and recorded in standard World Meteorological Organization (WMO) marine logs; automatically recorded data obtained with gages mounted on the masts and bow booms; and supplementary rainfall measurements made with plastic gages. 1977 NESDIS (National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service) Library Public domain 2286
