Analysis of Anadenanthera colubrina seed endophytes by pyrosequencing of bacterial 16S RNA genes. Anadenanthera seed microbiota

In this work, we aimed to investigate the bacterial microbiota of the Anadenanthera colubrina seed, with special focus to the seed endophytes. Methylobacterium and Staphylococcus spp. were detected from total seed metagenomic DNA, together with further taxa, some of which appeared for the first time as seed endophytes. Our work adds new information to shed light onto the diversity and complexity of the seed endophytic microbiome.
