Identification of genes related to the production of agarwood in Aquilaria malaccensis. Aquilaria malaccensis

The aim of this project is to further identify genes that are involved in the production of agarwood in Aquilaria malaccensis by using transcriptome approach. Transcriptome profile of agarwood-producing Aquilaria malaccensis was generated by using RNA extracted from trunk tissue of healthy (control) and agarwood-producing plants. Comparison between transcriptome profile generated from this project can be compared with transcriptome profile from other project involving agarwood-producing Aquilaria malaccensis to further analyse the pathways involved in the production of agarwood in this species.
