We measured steady-state transcript levels in 1) wild-type C. crescentus, 2) an spdR response regulator deletion strain (ΔspdR), and an spdR phosphomimic strain (SpdR(D64E)) Caulobacter crescentus wild type strain CB15, ΔspdR and spdR(D64E) strains were grown to mid log phase (OD600 ~0.3) in M2 defined medium containing 0.15% xylose. Cells were rapidly pelleted and resuspended in Trizol for RNA purification and subsequent RNA sequencing.
