Barley seed developmental series

To provide comprehensive spatiotemporal information about biological processes in developing grains of cultivated barley (Hordeum vulgare subsp. vulgare), we performed a transcriptomic study of the embryo, endosperm, and seed maternal tissues collected from 4 to 32 days after pollination. Overall design: Three main seed tissues (embryo, endosperm, and seed maternal tissues) were manually dissected at five developmental time points 4, 8, 16, 24 and 32 days after pollination (DAP). 4 DAP embryo and 32 DAP seed maternal tissues samples were omitted due to their minute size and dry nature, respectively. The total RNA was extracted, processed into the polyA-enriched libraries, and sequenced on the Illumina platform.
