Assess the effect of the rs182722517 variant on Osteolectin expression

Osteolectin is a recently-identified osteogenic growth factor that promots Wnt pathway activation and osteogenic differentiation by bone marrow stromal cells. Genome-wide association studies have identified the rs182722517 variant to associate with human plasma level of Osteolectin and height. The rs182722517 variant is 16kb downstream of Osteolectin, and is located in a candidate cis-regulatory element, annotated by ENCODE. The goal of this study is to use ATAC-seq to assess the potential role of the rs182722517 variant.
