We determined the functional role of the tight junction protein Claudin-3 for overall gene expression in the liver. In the bulk RNAseq, we compare global gene expression in the livers of C57BL/6 wildtype mice and in CLDN3-/- mice. We sequenced both normal liver tissue and regenerating liver tissue. Overall design: A two-thirds surgical partial hepatectomy was performed in C57BL/6 wildtype mice (CLDN3+/+) and mice with global claudin-3 knock-out (CLDN3-/-). Mouse liver tissue was analyzed at baseline (no surgery) and 48 hours post resection by RNA seq.
