资源简介:
The Office of Satellite and Products Operations, Atmosphere Products (OSPO-AP), is a collection of over 20 separate atmospheric data products that are grouped into seven categories: Aerosol, Clouds, Ozone/Atmospheric Chemistry, Precipitation, Soundings, Volcanic Ash, and Winds. Each category includes individual data products and measurements derived from NOAA's advanced satellite systems. These data are essential for monitoring and understanding atmospheric changes and how they affect the Earth’s environment. Many of the key Atmosphere products use near-real time, satellite imagery for high-resolution visual representations of cloud cover, storms, and other atmospheric features recorded for the current month. The satellites include geostationary operational satellites (GOES), polar-orbiting environmental satellites (POES), and Joint Polar Satellite Systems (JPSS). The data in the Atmosphere products are used by meteorologists, researchers, and decision-makers in support of their efforts to understand and predict weather patterns. The history of NOAA’s satellite program and instrumentation, starting in 1970, is also available at https://www.nesdis.noaa.gov/our-satellites/related-information/history-of-noaa-satellites.
