The present work sought first to identify the impacts of increasing water temperatures on M. galloprovincialis and M. edulis pure larvae and their hybrids on embryo larval development. Second, based on a recently developed targeted Mussel’s microarray, we investigated the transcriptional response to elucidate possible differences in heat stress-induced gene expression between these species. Total RNA was prepared from a group of 200.000 larvae from each experimental condition . Dual color competitive hybridizations (18°C vs 22°C) was performed using the STREM platform . Each experimental condition was calculated as 9 different values (3 biological replicates and 3 technical).
