Metagenomic assembly of a complete genome of WWE1 candidate division bacterium. Candidatus Cloacimonas acidaminovorans str. Evry

The complete genome of a bacterium belonging to the WWE1 candidate division was reconstructed from a metagenome isolated from an anaerobic digester of a municipal wastewater treatment plant. In silico proteome analysis indicated that this bacterium might derive most of its carbon and energy from the fermentation of amino acids and hence was then provisionally classified as "Candidatus Cloacamonas acidaminovorans". C. acidaminovorans is probably a syntrophic bacterium which is present in many anaerobic digesters.
