The objective is to take advantage of microgravity to eliminate drainage and to use imaging and multiple light scattering diagnostics in order to non-invasively measure and elucidate the time evolution of key features of the bubble-packing structure of wet foams – namely, the bubble size distribution and bubble rearrangement dynamics – and how they are affected by degree of wetness by systematically increasing the liquid content for sequences of otherwise identical foams. FOAM is divided into two experiments: FOAM Coarsening and FOAM Stability.
本实验的核心目标为:借助微重力环境消除湿泡沫的排液过程,结合成像技术与多光散射诊断手段,对湿泡沫气泡堆积结构的关键特征——包括气泡尺寸分布与气泡重排动力学——的时间演化规律进行非侵入式测量与阐明;同时通过对其余参数完全一致的泡沫样品序列系统性提升液体含量,探究润湿程度对上述特征的影响机制。该FOAM实验分为两项子实验:FOAM熟化实验(FOAM Coarsening)与FOAM稳定性实验(FOAM Stability)。
