Shift of microbial communities in permafrost-affected soils in response to temperature gradients

Temperature is an important factor governing microbe-mediated carbon feedback from permafrost. The link between compositional and functional microbial responses to temperature changes remains elusive due to the lack of studies assessing both aspects of microbial ecology. Here we investigated the relationship between the previously identified warming-induced alterations in microbial function, and the microbial community composition under fine temperature gradients by amplicon sequencing.
