UROD decarboxylates URO1 to COPRO1

Cytosolic uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase (UROD) catalyzes the sequential removal of four carboxylic groups from the acetic acid side chains of uroporphyrinogen I (URO1) to form coproporphyrinogen I (COPRO1). UROD catalyzes this reaction less efficiently than the decarboxylation of uroporphyrinogen III (de Verneuil et al. 1983).溶质胞内尿卟啉原脱羧酶（UROD）催化尿卟啉原I（URO1）的乙酸侧链上四个羧基的连续去除，从而形成粪卟啉原I（COPRO1）。UROD催化此反应的效率低于尿卟啉原III的脱羧反应（Verneuil 等人，1983年）。
