The experiment was initiated in a field located at Changzhi (E 113°06′ N 36°11′), southeast of the Shanxi Province, China.The bacterial diversity and composition of three different soil samples were studied. The soil samples included parent material refers to soil that was dug up four meters below the tillage layer, this was called immature soil (IS). The plough layer is the soil with millet-maize rotation from 1942 to 2011, This soil was called mellow soil (MS). The soil mixed with the same amount of MS and IS was called MS-IS.
