Human Rhinovirus genome sequencing project

NIAID GSCID Human Rhinovirus Project at UMIGS (http://gscid.igs.umaryland.edu/human_rhinovirus_project.php) The goal of this project is to carry out large-scale sequencing and analysis of ~3,000 HRV isolates that have been obtained during multiple cold seasons from children that are being followed in five ongoing, large-scale studies in the United States and in Perth, Australia to investigate the relationship between upper respiratory viral infection and asthma exacerbation. The study will be performed in several phases, the first involving ~500 patient samples from a single center (University of Wisconsin, Madison (UW)) and the second involving ~2,500 samples from the International Rhinovirus Consortium (IRC).
