CWR checklist and priority CWR of Zambia

This dataset was compiled from existing sources with the purpose of planning conservation actions of the priority CWR taxa in Zambia. The taxonomic backbone for the development of the checklist of crop wild relatives (CWR) were the checklist of Zambian vascular plants which comprises a total of 6,305 taxa and a total of 59 nationally prioritized crops belonging to 29 genera. The matching process of the two lists, generated a partial CWR checklist of 459 CWR taxa. Thereafter, the generated list of CWR taxa was annotated with data where possible that included such as geographical distribution, gene pool categorization, taxon status, IUCN categorization or red list categorization.
