Microbial composition of oribatid mites in different life stages

This study utilized high-throughput Illumina sequencing technology for 16S rRNA genes to investigate the bacterial community composition and relative abundance across five life stages (including larva, protonymph, deutonymph, tritonymph and adult) of E. eharai, conducting measurements and comparisons of the bacterial community structures during different stages. Additionally, it involved the prediction and analysis of the functions of significant microbes. Our study reveals for the first time the pattern of bacterial community changes in different stages of the life cycle of E. eharai.
