We report that knockdown of Pum2 results in an increase of PBE containing mRNAs in axons, without changing mRNA levels in the cell bodies. Axonal and somatic transcriptomes of embryonic rat dorsal root ganglion neurons grown in microfluidic chambers under shControl or shPum2 conditions were generated by RNA-Seq in duplicates using Illumina HiSeq. Axons were allowed to grow for 7 days before collection.
