VPRS 18043 Claims Register

The register was used to record compensation claims received and any subsequent actions relating to the claim. The claims appear to be dealing with matters in the Sandhurst (Bendigo) region in 1863 and 1864, possibly to do with property. This may suggest that it is related to the building of a new railway line, possibly the Bendigo to Echuca line.The register includes and index at the beginning which lists the names of the claimants and the corresponding page number within the register.Information recorded includes:- name of the claimant,- the date of the claim, and- and amount of money.Any subsequent actions in the matter are listed, alongside the dates of the actions.There is only one extant volume in this series.
