Reproducibility package for "Grounded by fog: arid-corridor air-taxi disruption and nowcast recovery"
收藏资源简介:
Reproducibility package for the study "Grounded by fog: arid-corridor air-taxi disruption and nowcast recovery." It contains the analysis code and the derived result tables needed to regenerate every quantitative result in the paper, which measures electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) air-taxi operability under arid low visibility (radiation fog and blowing dust) on the Dubai–Abu Dhabi–Al Ain corridor using ten years of hourly METAR (2015–2024) from the Iowa Environmental Mesonet (IEM) ASOS archive for the airports OMDB, OMAA, and OMAL. Contents: (1) the core model — operability rule, disruption over a representative schedule, and a nowcast-enabled recovery policy (none / proactive / reactive / placebo / nowcast arms) with a value-of-forecast sweep; (2) Google Colab and Kaggle run notebooks; (3) figure-building scripts; and (4) four derived result CSVs (month-by-hour operability grid; operability and disrupted service by station and minima scenario; policy recovery; value-of-forecast curve). A README gives the exact IEM retrieval query and maps each CSV to the manuscript's tables and figures. The underlying METAR is public and re-fetchable, so it is not redistributed here. Headline results: 17–19% of scheduled service is at risk under conservative minima (about 2% under nominal); non-operability concentrates at dawn and in the cooler months; acting on a visibility nowcast recovers 30–38% of disrupted service versus 18–20% for reactive grounding, while a random-timing placebo recovers almost nothing.
