Forest, meadow, and arable soil vertical profile microbial study

The goal is to study microbial communities in the soil vertical profile down to 80 cm in differently managed boreal soils. The differently managed sols include long-term organic and conventional cropping systems, meadow and forest located in the same boreal region in South-Western Finland. Microbial communities are studied with metagenome and fungal ITS2 amplicon sequencing. The aim is to contribute to the understanding of microbial ecology in the soil vertical profile of differently managed soils.
