Data are directly from the <font size='3'><a href='https://lagoslakes.org/lagos-research-platforms/lagos-us/' target='_blank' rel='nofollow ugc noopener noreferrer'>LAGOS-US platform</a>. The current dataset identifies the lake watershed: </font><span style='font-size:medium;'>the contributing watershed area accumulated upstream to the first connected lake ≥ 10 ha, if present. This definition e</span><span style='font-size:medium;'>mphasizes the importance of local inputs,</span><div><font size='3'>and also acknowledges the potential for larger upstream lakes to function as sinks. </font></div><div><span style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:"Noto Sans", sans-serif; font-size:medium;'><br /></span></div><div><span style='color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:"Noto Sans", sans-serif; font-size:medium;'>The LAGOS-US dataset contains locational, identifying, and physical information of all lakes ≥ 1 ha and their watersheds in the conterminous U.S. Geospatial files for lakes and watersheds as well as tables for linking across other LAGOS modules and broad-scale lake databases are available.
