Cyanobacteria bloom from Yahuarcocha, Ecuador 2021 Metagenomic assembly

The sequence data in this project are from a metagenome sequenced Cyanobacterial bloom from Lake Yahuarcocha, Ecuador in October 15, 2021. The sample was collected via a composite 63 micron vertical plankton tow collected from the center of the lake, and concentrated again onto a 8 micron polycarbonate filter to remove planktonic heterotrophic bacteria. The bloom was dominated by Planktothrix and had visible colonies of Raphidiopsis. The primary objective of the study was to determine the genetic identity of the dominant cyanoHAB in this lake, and determine which species might be the cause of blooms in Ecuador.
