Ultraviolet absorbance metrics from NEON chemical properties of surface water grab samples, United States (2014-2026)

This dataset includes Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) and ultraviolet (UV) absorbance metrics including Specific UltraViolet absorbance (SUVA) at 254 nm and 350 nm, E2:E3 absorbance ratio, and spectral slope ratio derived from the NEON chemical properties of surface water data product (DP1.20093.001). The dataset was created using the absNEON R package. The primary table contains all 4 absorbance metrics, derived from full spectrum UV-vis scans performed on samples collected beginning in fall 2023.  There is also a secondary table for samples collected before fall 2023 which have discrete scans of absorbance at 254 nm only. Both tables include values that have been corrected for the overlapping absorbance of Iron.
