资源简介:
In the present study, we demonstrated that intake of D-galactose improves severity and pathology in mice model of atopic dermatitis induced by DNCB. Gross lesions such as redness, scaling/dryness, excoriation, and ear thickness and immunological phenotype (immune cell infiltration and serum production of IgE) were reduced in D-galactose-administered mice. It is of note that D-galactose administration restored gut microbiota profiles, which were altered in AD mice, characterized by increased abundance of Bacteroidetes and decreased abundance of Firmicutes. Our findings suggest that possible use of D-galactose as a prebiotic to alleviate AD by altering gut microbiota, which seems to be helpful to readers in a field of nutrition.
